What is the process for adding a user to Google My Business? The process has, up until the year 2023, been quite simple to follow, but once again, a bright spark at Google has decided to complicate things for us.
In 2022, it was as easy as logging into Google My Business, clicking on the admin link, and adding another owner or manager to the business or account. In this case, you must enter the user's email address. Using this method, they will be able to accept your offer via email, and you can go on tweaking, changing and optimising the profile from there.
As we all know, they've decided to remove the function of adding users to the account within the admin settings in 2023. Let me show you how to add or remove users within the admin settings; I've done the searching so that you don't have to!

How to Add User to Google Business Account
Make sure you 'are logged' into Google!
Search for your brand name.
You should see 'Your business on Google at the top of the 'SERPS.'
Click those three dots on the top right
Click 'business profile settings'.
Then click 'Managers.'
Click the 'Add' button.
If you know their email address, enter it there.
As soon as you enter your email, Google will typically send them an email from which they will need to accept before they can change any details or optimise it for you.
Although I have seen this many times, I will warn you! There are times when Google will ban an account without any apparent reason. It's probably due to different IP addresses, but don't worry; appeal & follow the process in your Google My Business account. It will rarely take a few hours for a human at Google to review the error.
In addition, if you don't check your Google My Business account once a fortnight, you could leave yourself open to automated updates that can cause havoc with your local business rankings!
